Are you an avid hiker or dreaming of a stage on one of Belgium's most beautiful long-distance trails? Then we have fantastic news! Camping L'Eau Vive<\/strong> is a stone's throw from the legendary GR 15<\/strong>, also known as the \u201cTour de la Semois\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This great trail traverses some of the most breathtaking landscapes of the Belgian Ardennes and connects Martelange to the sources of the Semois river in Arlon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stages close to the campsite: from Martelange to the Semois spring<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The section of the GR 15 that starts at our campsite is the 29.5 km stage \u201cDe Martelange aux sources de la Semois \u00e0 Arlon\u201d. Prepare for a journey full of historical trails and beautiful nature:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Tough start:<\/strong> the route starts in Martelange, at the traffic lights on the N4 (opposite the historic \u201cMaison Rouge\u201d). The first metres are immediately a \u201ctough climb\u201d (rude mise en jambes) up the hill, via Rue de l'\u00c9glise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Historic stop:<\/strong> already after 1.1 km you reach the Chapelle St-Nicolas<\/strong>. This chapel, built in the early 18th century and located at an altitude of 460 metres, is dedicated to the patron of travellers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Old paths:<\/strong> Further on, the path follows a stretch of the historic \u201cancienne voie du tram\u201d<\/strong> (old tramway), also called the \u201cpromenade des Romains\u201d. This tramline connected Arlon and Martelange and was closed as early as 1952.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Liberty Road & heritage:<\/strong> Later in the stage you'll pass through Attert, where you'll follow the route along the Voie de la Libert\u00e9<\/strong> (Freedom Road). This path is marked by memorial stones (with a torch and the year 1944) commemorating the liberation by the Allies, in the wake of the US 3rd Army led by General Patton.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Magic endpoint:<\/strong> the stage ends at the sources of the famous river the Semois\/Semoy<\/strong> In Arlon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
